About MP Strategies
Since 1996, MP Strategies founder Mateo Paz-Soldan has successfully advised foreign governments, municipalities, and trade associations before federal and state agencies, the White House, the U.S. Congress, foreign governments, and international organizations on fisheries, Alaska Native, agricultural, trade policy, and immigration matters.
Mr. Paz-Soldan specializes in designing legislative strategies, drafting proposed legislative provisions, and putting together domestic constituencies to secure passage in the U.S. Congress and Administration of various initiatives in Washington, DC.
Mr. Paz-Soldan has also participated as an international elections observer in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Bosnia on behalf of the Organization of American States (OAS), and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
Mr. Paz-Soldan earned his law degree in 1993 from the George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC, and graduated with a BA in Diplomacy & World Affairs from Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA, in 1989 which included a year long stint at the Université de Haute Bretagne in Rennes, France, and as a Richter Fellow in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He is a member of the DC, Pennsylvania, and US Supreme Court bars. Originally from Lima, Peru, he is fluent in Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
